Dream big or sing forever?
Dream / Here and Now

Dreams and Songs

I am a dreamer,
I have dreamt a thousand dreams, you see,
I have lived among the clouds,
I have looked far ahead, across the land and sea.

As a boy, I dreamt I was an astronaut,
As a teenager, the fastest man on earth,
As a young adult, of riches far beyond my means,
As I’ve aged, they became more real, my dreams.

Time seemed eternal to me,
In its lapse I have stood blind to its loss,
Moments far too many, I have missed,
For I have dreamt a thousand dreams, you see.

Now, the dream I value more than any other,
To model the best within humanity,
An ideal, its unattainability clear,
Nonetheless, this worthy aim I pledge.

I have dreamt,
Whilst another sings.
She sings to the tune of Eternal beats,
Far more present than I, is she.

By presence one comes to know,
Of the humble earth from which they grow,
For them, all of creation comes to visit,
For a dreamer absent, only passing clouds say hello.

For the one who sings,
Time is not bound the same,
You see, she lives in the here and now,
He, in a distant future that may not be.

A dreamer as I, goes from goal to goal,
Embracing the world in a worldly sense,
The one who sings too has goals,
Beyond this realm of worldly song.

She sings the song of life,
She sings the song of death,
She sings the song of life and death,
She sings the song of Eternal beats.

This is not to say that one ought not to dream,
One ought to dream, without loss of presence,
One ought to dream, without loss of song,
One ought to dream, of the purest dreams.

I am a dreamer,
Learning how to sing,
She teaches me,
This Eternal song.
