In faith, there is comfort, that souls shall meet again

Hope Hereafter

I wonder,
How would I deal with death?

I do not know,
I will try with these few words.

If I felt they are going to a higher place,
It would give me comfort.

If I felt they had lived a good life,
It would give me peace.

If I felt they had struggled,
I would think that up there, it would be better.

If I knew there is a life hereafter,
It would give me hope that we shall meet again.

If they had left a part of their soul behind,
It would give me something to love.

If they had taught me their ways,
It would give me a path to follow.

If we had ups and downs,
I would be glad we rode our waves together.

If I felt my tears flow,
I feel their memory would console my heavy heart.

If I felt at a great loss,
I would think of the gains they brought to my life.

If I felt empty,
I would fill my heart with the love we shared.

I would try to tell myself,
That our lives are transient, the end does come.

If I felt the years had been taken away,
I would remember this life is negligible, compared to the life to come.

I would want to tell myself,
That death is a part of life.

That they could not have lived,
Without dying.

Just as they could not have died,
Without living.

With Love ❤️ and Heartfelt Prayers 🤲 for all those affected by Turkey-Syria’s earthquake.

Approaching my 91st birthday I am more at ease in accepting my demise.
I accept that nothing , even the most distant galaxies are permanent and are ever changing and dying.
Our own earth will die from the expanding Sun so we are informed.
Losing loved ones to death is such sweet sorrow.
There has to be an end to a beginning , we are blessed with memory to relish those happy times past.
The only concern I have is whether I expressed my love and appreciation enough during our 65 year marriage.
My philosophy in general can be summed up the motto of my regiment ,the Royal Northumberland Fusiliers ,
QUO FATA VOCANT.
Whither destiny takes me.
