Pakistan Under Flood... Help pull someone from the mud
Give

United, together

Dearest Fellow Travellers,

Thank you to all those who have supported and continue to support the Pakistan Emergency Flood Appeal – GoFundMe campaign (link below). My sincerest thanks and appreciation for all your help in sharing and/or donating.

My latest painting shows one pulling another from the mud. The left arm represents our unity, a coming together of all people, of different colours and creeds, to help this land in anguish. The right arm represents those in need, submerged, stuck, grieving in loss. Brown is the mud, representing one third of Pakistan submerged. Red, the suffering, death, children perishing, an agonising reality. Black, infections thriving, blisters blistering. Blue, monsoon rains yet to come, this struggle far from over. Orange, the scorching sun, an unbearable thirst. The right side, today’s reality. The left side, an ideal that many may not live to see. Yellow, the hopes of future crops, grasslands green. This transition, from one side to another, gives hope, helping to make another’s reality better.

Fundraising campaign update – $4,215 raised of $10,000 goal.

33 million people are affected. Currently, over 1,500 have died including 416 children. Overall, 16 million children are impacted with 3.4 million in need of humanitarian support.

With the funds raised, we will give tents for shelter, blankets for warmth, pots and pans for cooking, emergency packs for food, and clean drinking water.

For us, what we give may be less than what we need. For them, it is far more than what they have.

Even if we pull, just one, just one hurting soul, out of this mud, then we may have helped to save a life.

“And whoever saves a life it is as though he had saved the lives of all mankind”

Thank you for standing alongside me, with arms wide open.

Please continue to support this cause, by sharing the message and donating to this campaign, or any other charity of your choice.

Saif
